BioTAK™ - Biodegradable Labels
BioTAK™, developed by Berkshire Labels is the World's first 100% biodegradable self adhesive label certified to EN13432
The exclusive BioTAK™ range is made from replenishable and renewable resources and incorporates The World's First Biodegradable Adhesive, FDA Approved.
The adhesive took more than seven years to develop to a point where it passed the stringent EN13432 Standard, which specifies that 90% biodegradation must take place within 45 days. BioTAK™ achieved this with 14 days to spare!
Demand for our biodegradable range of labels has been phenomenal, both from UK customers and also from the overseas market. You may well have already purchased a product that is labeled from our Biotak™ range in retailers such as Waitrose, Asda, Tesco's and Morrison's.
Our BioTAK™ range is currently available in the following materials,
White Semi Gloss Paper
- 78gsm White Semi Gloss Paper
- Virgin paper sourced only from suppliers adhering to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification)
- Suitable for Home and Industrial composting
PLA
- Poly Lactic Acid
- A Biodegradable polymer derived from corn.
- Available in White and Clear
- Renewable,100% Compostable
- Breathable, resistant to moisture
- Grease and scratch resistant
- Excellent machinability and printability
- EN 13432 Certified
- Suitable for Industrial Composting
Natureflex
- Cellulose - Wood pulp
- Renewable resource from FSC
- Available in Clear, White and Metallised
- Good gloss and transparency
- Static - free for high machine performance
- Resistant to oils and greases
- Moisture permeable
- EN 13432 Certified
- Suitable for Industrial & Home Composting
Kraft Laid Natural Paper
- Natural unbleached, uncoated, laid watermark paper
- Sourced from PEFC source
- Natural 'hand made' feel and appearance
- Conforms to EN13432 when used on a compostable pack up to a maximum concentration of 55.9%
Upon request, subject to minimum orders and testing Berkshire Labels are able to coat our BioTAK™ adhesive to any biodegradable face material available.
There are other claims of biodegradable labels in the marketplace, however they do not have biodegradable adhesive, ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES!
